Update

Well, much has happened since the last posting. Jacob is 6 days old today. He is doing very well with adjusting to life and his new home. Since night 4 he has been sleeping very well and has only woke up once during the night to eat. That has allowed Becky and I to get a good amount of sleep. The above pictures are some from our trip home from the hospital.

Jacob also had his first doctor's visit yesterday for a routine check-up. He got an excellent report and is doing great- below is a picture at the doctor's office. Jacob also got to met his Auntie, Granny Pop, Greg and Rene and cousins, Millie and Miles. Jacob also got to play some more with Ellie and Amelia.

Quick Update

Well, we had night #2 last night, and I must say it was very different from the first night. Jacob had a full day of meeting new people and being introduced to all his friends. He slept pretty good throughout the day, so at night time he was more active (lucky us). All and all we managed just fine.

All the nurses and doctors have checked Becky and Jacob over and say we are free to go home anytime we're ready today. We're very excited to bring Jacob home and start a new routine.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by to visit and for all the lovely cards, flowers, gifts, etc. Thanks Betsy for the 2 am reading material! - Jason

Hello, Jacob Aubrey!

Well, at 10:24pm on July 20, Jacob Aubrey was born weighing in at 9lbs 2oz (to every one's amazement, including the doctor). Becky and Jacob did very well and only had to work for about 2 hours. After a trip to the nursery, Jacob got to stay with us through the night. I am working at getting some pictures downloaded from my digital camera... it's a busy day so please be patient with us. - Jason

Finally at the Hospital!

Becky and I came up to the hospital today at around 1:00. After checking in and blood work, we are in a room. Becky has dilated to 5 cm. Hopefully, we will meet Jacob Aubrey before the day is out. Stay tuned for pictures!!!

It's 7:30 and Becky is dilated to 9cm. She nurses and doctor says she will be pushing in an hour or less. Everything is progressing very well and Becky is doing great.

It's 8:30 and we are ready to begin pushing. We are on stand by just waiting on the nurses to come back and begin....

At 10:24pm on July 20 Jacob Aubrey was born weighing 9lbs 2ozs and was 19.5 inches long. Becky and Jacob are doing great. - Jason

He's almost here!!

My due date, July 23, is a week from tomorrow. As of last Thursday I am dilated 3cm & 80% effaced. So really Jacob could come any day. However, I'm beginning to get the feeling that he may be stubborn & just hang out in there for a while. He's in no big rush to get out of his comfy environment. I'm beginning to get a little anxious. More out of curiosity then being miserably pregnant, of which I am not. I just want to see him & hold him. I can hardly wait!!

I see the doctor again this Thursday afternoon. I'm anxious to see if I've dilated any more. It'd be cool if I'd increased by 2cm, or so, but I'm doubting it right now. She did say last week "this baby is down at your knee caps!" :) She's so cute. I love my doctor.

Maybe the next entry will be one letting you know we're in the hospital! Jason is predicting the day to come Saturday or Sunday. Let's keep our fingers crossed!

Jacob's Room

Here are 2 pictures of Jacob's room. We love the furniture. I think it will be something that we will keep & use for a long time &, hopefully, more babies. :) It is classic & rich & I'm so glad we chose this set.

We have more things to add later (chair, lamp, storage bins, wall decor, etc), but just wanted to share with you how cute Jacob's room has turned out. Since the bedroom is upstairs & ours is downstairs & on the back side of the house, it will be very hard to put him in his bed & leave him there overnight. I'm not sure how easy that's going to be for me. I'm pretty sure it will be a while before this transpires. :)

Getting Closer... be patient.

Becky is at 38 weeks pregnant and some days.... as time gets closer to her due date I ask that you be patient with us regarding posting, or the lack thereof, I guess. We have been working hard at putting the finishing touches on the house as we get ready to welcome Jacob into our world, so we have been busy.

Also, just so all my adoring fans know, I am going to try and keep the blog updated with pictures of the process of the delivery when Becky and I go to the hospital. I know, lofty dreams, but I will try.
